Dr. Jamie Lead is a Professor in the Department of Environmental Health Sciences at the Arnold School of Public Health. Dr. Lead is also and the SmartState Endowed Chair in Environmental Nanoscience and Risk, and he is the Director for the SmartState Center for Environmental Nanoscience and Risk (CENR). Dr. Lead received his Ph.D. from Lancaster University, Bailrigg, Lancaster, United Kingdom. He was the former director of the Facility for Environmental Nanoparticle Analysis and Characterization (FENAC) at the University of Birmingham in England. His research interest focuses on understanding nanoscale phenomena in the environment and his research involves performing fundamental and applied studies on the impact of nanotechnology on the environment. Dr. LeadHe has published extensively in his field, has edited several books, and has a number of patents to his credit.
