Susan Lessner, Ph.D. Department of Cell Biology and Anatomy University of South Carolina School of Medicine
Dr. Lessner is an assistant professor of Cell Biology and Anatomy at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. Her research interests center on the vascular biology and biomechanics of atherosclerosis, with an emphasis on intra-plaque angiogenesis (new blood vessel growth) and mechanical failure (plaque rupture). Dr. Lessner received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Princeton University and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
