Joseph Johnson

Joseph E. Johnson, PhD.
Department of Physics and Astronomy
University of South Carolina

Dr. Johnson is a Distinguished Professor Emeritus in the Physics and Astronomy Department at the University of South Carolina. His research interests involve the study of relativistic quantum mechanics. Dr. Johnson is investigating Lie groups that contain transformations connected with classical non-relativistic systems, such as Markov-type Lie groups, and studying their application to process of diffusion and information theory. He is also working on the use of new data objects in computational problems. Dr. Johnson received his M.S. in Theoretical Physics from the State University of Iowa and his Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
