James R. Hebert, Sc.D. Health Sciences Distinguished Professor Director, South Carolina Statewide Cancer Prevention and Control Program Dr. Hebert is the Health Sciences Distinguished Professor at the University of South Carolina and the director of the South Carolina Statewide Cancer Prevention and Control Program. His interests include testing the specific effect of diet and related factors in causing cancer; designing studies to understand how changes in dietary risk factors affect both bio-markers of exposure and cancer-related outcomes; and developing methods of intervening on diet, physical activity, and related factors to prevent cancer or alter its course in persons diagnosed with the disease. Dr. Hebert received his Sc.D. in Nutritional Epidemiology from Harvard University
