Dr. Douglas Pittman Department of Pharmacy University of South Carolina Dr. Pittman is an Associate Professor with the Department of Pharmacy at the University of South Carolina. Research in his lab. focuses on the maintenance of chromosome stability by homologous recombination (HR) DNA repair mechanisms. Accumulation of chromosome rearrangements is often observed during cancer progression, and using the laboratory mouse as a model system, they are studying mutations in HR genes.
